Since before I was even pregnant, I had one big fear in life: becoming super fat during pregnancy and not being able to get it off afterwards. I have definitely gained a few elbees and I don’t think it’s all the good weight, but we’ll see how it all pans out once the little bean is born. Luckily, in the meantime, I have this super cute friend, Brooklyn from Cook and Craft Me Crazy, that had the great idea to go walking every morning to help motivate each other to be healthier and active! We’ve been going since January and so far, it’s worked really well. It also helps get me outta bed – otherwise I’d probably sleep in until 9:30 everyday, and get up right before it’s time to be at work.
Anyway, I don’t know about you peeps, but where I live? It’s cold. Like right now it’s about 16°F and it’s snowing. That does not make for fun walks in the morning. So, Brooklyn got creative and thought to go walking in the mall here in town! Smart, eh? So off we go every morning at about 7 am. Just us, Brooklyn’s kiddos and a bunch of old timers making the rounds. It makes me laugh to think that we’ve become those people. The kind that want to get a good walk in so bad that we resort to mall walking. I’m not ashamed though. I love it. So much so, that Brooklyn even made us t-shirts to strut our stuff in!
Ingredients:
- 1 & 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice {about 8-10 lemons}
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 5-6 cups water
- Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and whisk until sugar is completely dissolved.
- Refrigerate until cold and enjoy!
MAN! Our mall walking shirts look even better when you take a picture of them! This LOOKS AWESOME! I can’t wait to make it for BBQ’s this summer! YOU ARE AMAZING SARAH! XOXO -Brook
So sad that you’d never had it! Chick Fil A is the only thing I miss as a vegetarian. I still go often for the sweet tea, however. 🙂
Are you saying that you just recently had Chick-Fil-A for the first time in your LIFE? THAT IS MADNESS! You have to go there for breakfast and get the chicken minis. THEY ARE SO GOOD.
And in other news, I’m excited to try this recipe. There are few things I love more than fresh squeezed Lemonade, one thing being someone else making it for me. 😉

I know lemonade is supposed to be a summertime thing, but I drink it all year round. I can’t help it! And this is definitely the recipe I’ll be making next time. Thanks for sharing!
MALL WALKING! What a great idea! I’m never very active in the winter here, because the winter in New England sucks a lot. I remember one time going for an interview at the mall, and seeing the old people, and thinking it felt a little like a zombie apocalypse. I wish I had a friend to mall walk with 🙂

We’re have a lemon party. Love to have you bring this over. http://www.tumbleweedcontessa.com/blog/lemons-saturday-dishes/
I believe I will try it with vodka
Never had their lemonade. I guess lemonade ingredients are all alike but, it’s the amounts of everything that makes it or breaks it. Thank you for the recipe.

Too funny! My friend and I have just started mall walking too, because the weather here is still wintery. We don’t have a Chick-fil-a around here, so I’ve never tried their lemonade, but this sounds great!
I just downed a large glass of this last night! Thanks so much for a great recipe. By the way.. LOVE the name of your blog. Do you really grill in your heels? 🙂

I’m glad I’m not the only pregnant woman craving lemonade! I wanted some so bad on Sunday that I dreamed about it. How odd is that! Thanks for the recipe. This will definitely save me some cash over stopping at Chick-fil-A every other day!

I love Chick Fil A lemonade! Thanks for sharing! I’m definitely going to have try this myself.
I think this has way more lemon juice in the mix than the way my mother used to make lemonade, I’m not sure she really had a recipe, though. This sounds like it would be both tart and sweet, awesome! Thanks for the recipe!
That’s exactly how it is! It’s just tart enough to make it interesting, but sweet enough to keep you coming back for more. I love it!

yum!! Simple and easy :o) Good work on your walking! Keep it up! I exercised all during my pregnancies and even though I still gained weight, it was easier to get off afterwards because I was in shape :o) Thanks for linking up to tasteful Tuesdays at Nap-Time Creations! Look forward to seeing you again at the party next week.
