I love most rice krispy treats. I say most, because I can’t stand them if they are:
1. Too hard.
2. Not buttery enough.
Which really, these two things go hand in hand. If you don’t want your krispy treats to be too hard, you need more butter! Butter softens just about anything up when baking. Also, you can’t overcook the mallows and butter either, or that makes them hard as well. How’s that for a quick Krispy Treat 101 lesson?
Do you know what makes krispy treats even better? When they’re dipped in chocolate. And if you really want to spice things up, dip them in sprinkles! I made a Christmas version of these last month, but I think this Valentine’s version is even cuter!
Valentine’s White Chocolate Dipped Krispy Treats
Makes about 4 dozen Krispy Treats
Ingredients:
- 6 cups rice krispies cereal
- 3 Tbsp. salted butter
- 40 regular-sized marshmallows {Or 4 cups mini mallows}
- Lollipop sticks, cut in half
- 16 oz. white melting chocolate {I use Candiquik}
- Valentine themed sprinkles
Directions:
- Pour the rice krispies into a large bowl.
- In a large pot, combine the butter and mallows and cook over medium heat until the butter is melted and there are only a few lumps left.
- Pour the mallow mixture over the rice krispies and stir immediately until the krispies are fully covered.
- Press the rice krispies into a 9×13 baking pan. {It’s easiest if you either butter your hands or get them wet with cold water.}
- Let the krispies sit for about 30 minutes and then cut into 1 inch squares.
- Pack squares firmly together and then place a lollipop stick into each square, about 3/4 of the way in.
- Melt the chocolate according to package directions.
- Dip each krispy square into the chocolate about halfway up the side.
- Let the extra chocolate run off and then dip the square into the sprinkles.
- Let sit on wax paper until chocolate is firm.
Wrap these in a little bit of cellophane and you just became the coolest mom ever for making homemade Valentine’s goodies! After all, homemade is always best. 🙂 Enjoy!

So I rolled them into balls first and they are cooling does that make a difference as far as the lollipop sticks or the time until I stick them in
