This Chicken Cheddar Broccoli Crescent Braid is made up of cream cheese, chicken, cheddar, and broccoli stuffed into a beautiful crescent braid. {Which looks more intimidating than it really is.} This is a dinner favorite for sure!
I’ve learned something about myself recently. Although I’m a food blogger, I don’t care that much for cooking. I can’t stand all the time it takes to cook dinner and then have it only take 5 minutes to eat. If I don’t have a billion other things to do, then I’m a little more inclined to enjoy myself while doing it, but for the most part? Cooking isn’t my forté. Baking on the other hand – that’s another story. I could bake all day and not get sick of it. I’m a messy baker though {much to Zach’s dismay}, so the aftermath wouldn’t be very pretty. But at least I have fun!
Zach is the cooking mastermind behind this blog. He’s a genius at coming up with all kinds of stuff on his own and then actually making it work. When I come up with stuff on my own, we normally end up eating at Cafe Rio that night.
Anyway, why am I telling you this? Because I’m sure that there are some of you out there that don’t enjoy the time it takes to cook dinner, just like me. This Chicken Cheddar Broccoli Crescent Braid is the solution for that! It was inspired by my friend Lisa’s Chicken Pot Pie Crescent Braid {which looks amazing too, by the way!} and I promise you now, this doesn’t disappoint one bit! It takes just over 30 minutes to make, but 22 of that is cooking time…so basically, this takes about 10-15 minutes worth of work. Yes, please. I know you will love it just as much as we do!

Chicken Cheddar Broccoli Crescent Braid
Ingredients
- 1 can seamless crescent roll dough
- 2 cups frozen broccoli florets
- 1 cup cooked chicken
- 1/2 cup cream of chicken soup
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 3/4 cup cheddar cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
-
Roll your crescent dough out flat onto a baking sheet and set aside.
-
Place your broccoli florets in a blender and pulse a few times, just to chop them up and make them smaller.
-
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients besides the dough. {Obvs.} Mix well until everything is evenly distributed.
-
Place the filling down the middle 3-4 inches of your crescent dough, lengthwise.
-
Using a pizza cutter, cut 1/2 inch strips into your crescent dough, widthwise.
-
Once it is all cut, fold one strip of dough at an angle, over the filling. Then fold a strip from the other side at an angle, over the filling. Repeat until there are no more strips left.
-
Pinch the ends, so that the filling won't leak out.
-
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
-
Let sit for 5 minutes and then cut into strips and serve.
