Our food blogging community was rocked last week. An amazing blogger passed away from a heart attack in her sleep and it has been the most heartbreaking thing. She has three kids that she supported solely from her blog and I can’t imagine the heartache they are going through right now.

This blogger’s name was Joan. Joan Hayes. And she blogged at Chocolate, Chocolate, and More. As you may be able to tell from the name of her blog, she loved chocolate. I hadn’t ever met her in person, but we talked a few times online. She had been blogging for about a year longer than me, so when I came onto the food blogging scene, she was one of the first blogs that I ran in to. She kind of forged the way for a lot of us and was one of those bloggers that was happy to share any and all knowledge that she had.

I don’t claim to know Joan on a super personal level, because I didn’t. What I do know of her though, is that she was a kind, caring, and giving person and held a lot of qualities that I know I lack. I have enjoyed getting to know her better through all of the tributes to her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and blog posts. There is a whole load of bloggers that are posting today, {with it being National Chocolate Day} and all of the posts are dedicated to Joan and the great lady that she was.
