Candy Corn Chow Mein Cookies are packed with candy corn, chow mein noodles, and a buttery, soft cookie base. They are a favorite Halloween treat!
Halloween goodies are the best. I love how creative people get. These Candy Corn Chow Mein Cookies aren’t necessarily creative like the spooky finger cookies, witch’s brew drink, or the bowl of jello worms that you might see on the Internet, but they are cute, festive, and taste so yummy. There is nothing I love more than seasonal treats!
The great thing about chow mein noodles in a dessert like this is that it adds a great, crunchy texture, without taking away from the flavor, since chow mein noodles are about the blandest thing on the planet. I’m a texture kind of person, so that crunch is so appealing to me.
Couple that crunch with the crispy cookie edge and chewy center and these will quickly become one of your favorite cookie recipes. We actually took the cookie base recipe from our Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe because in all my years, I still haven’t found a cookie recipe that can top that one.
Since Halloween is tomorrow, that means your house should be overflowing with candy corn, goblins, and ghosts, right?? Zach set up our Halloween decor before October had even started. We are so excited over here! Our costume theme for this year is a safari adventure family. Zach will be a safari-goer, I will be a zebra, Addi will be a flamingo, Graham will be an elephant, and our dog Copper will be a lion. What is your family dressing up as? We hope you have a Happy Halloween!
Candy Corn Chow Mein Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 & 1/3 cup butter {I use salted}
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3 & 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chow mein noodles
- 3/4 cup candy corn
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl or stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
-
Add the vanilla and egg and mix until fully incorporated.
-
In a medium bowl, stir together the salt, baking soda, and flour until mixed. Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, 1/2 cup at a time, until fully mixed.
-
Fold in the chow mein noodles and candy corn, being careful not to crush the noodles too much.
-
Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet and bake for 7-8 minutes.
