These Chocolate Peanut Butter Krispy Balls are a very simple treat that seem super fancy. They are rice krispy cereal, mixed with a sweet peanut butter filling, and dipped in chocolate!
Umm, are you ready for a little taste of perfection? Because these chocolate peanut butter balls are it. We have a family friend that used to make something a lot like these, but she would make them into bars. We would beg her every time we saw her to make her famous “scotcharoos”. {How we came up with that name, I will never know.} I could eat an entire plate of these in no time flat. {No, I haven’t done that already…I have no idea what you’re talking about.}

Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls
Ingredients
- 2 & 1/2 cups rice krispy cereal
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 $ 1/2 cups smooth peanut butter
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 1 lb. dipping chocolate I use Candiquik
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, mix the cereal and powdered sugar together and set aside.
-
In a medium saucepan, melt the peanut butter and butter on medium heat. As soon as it becomes a uniform liquid, remove from heat and pour over the cereal mixture, stirring well until fully combined.
-
Form into 1-inch balls and place on parchment paper to let cool, about 1 hour.
-
Once cooled, melt the chocolate in a bowl, according to package directions.
-
Place a peanut butter ball on top of a fork and lower it into the bowl of chocolate. Let the excess chocolate drizzle through the prongs of the fork and scrape on the sides of the bowl.
-
Place the ball back on the parchment paper and let sit until chocolate hardens, about 20 minutes.
Call this perfect timing- I was just considering adding Nutella to my rice crispies or not… Now I’ll wait until I have bought some pb 🙂
Sounds perfect indeed!
YUMMMMMMM…I want some NOW!
Visiting from Tatertots and Jello Weekend Wrap Up party.
My mother has been making these for a good twenty years. She got the recipe at a Tupperware party, they were called Mervins balls which invaribly leads to comments about poor Mervin.
They looks so yummy and delicious.

Good Bye Diet! Hello yummy, chocolate peanut butter balls!
I love chocolate peanut butter balls! My family uses a similar recipe but we use graham cracker crumbs instead of rice crispy cereal and we add a little paraffin wax to the chocolate. It helps it to coat better. It’s a family tradition to make them a Christmas time. Thanks for sharing! Love from your newest GFC follower, Whimsically Homemade!
O my goodness! These look absolutely delish! Wish I had one right now! Happy Labor Day!

I love stuff like this! I like how you did them in ball form instead of bar form (more chocolate all the way around!) Pinned it.
Yum! This looks delish and easy to make! Just my kind of baking. Thanks for sharing at Etcetorize this week!
These look delish! I’ve made a similar version but with just powdered sugar, peanut butter, and chocolate, but I’m looking forward to trying these with the extra crunchiness of the rice krispies!
