This Raspberries and Cream Fruit Bowl is a classic favorite, that I am always in the mood for! The raspberries are covered in whole cream, then topped with Tate + Lyle Honey Granules for a tasty and easy snack.
There are a few things you should know about me. 1. I grew up on a farm. Two different farms, actually. We moved a couple of times when I was younger and when I was six, we moved to little Silsbee, TX. My family lived on a 7-acre lot that was surrounded on three sides by a game reserve. {You can imagine how my mom felt about that, with 6 kids running around.} I can still remember walking all over that place {which felt like the biggest wonderland to us, mind you}, swimming in the pond, catching snakes and lizards, climbing trees, picking pecans that fell out of the tree, and one of my most vivid memories – picking wild blackberries and raspberries. We would bring them all in to my mom, like pirates with a loot of buried treasure, and she would mix them with some cream and sugar. One bite, and it made every thorn prick and sliver worth it! This is one of my ultimate comfort foods and I love that it’s so easy to throw together.
After we moved away, we would visit our cousins in Oregon and pick raspberries all day long and then make a Raspberries and Cream Fruit Bowl for everyone. We all still talk about it when we get together. This stuff tastes incredible.
The second thing you should know about me, is that I grew up with a beekeeper as a father. That didn’t really change my undying fear of bees, but it did give me a love for the taste of honey! I was telling my dad a couple of months ago, that I have been ruined for life, growing up on real honey, and out he comes with a 5 gallon bucket of some that had just been harvested. Umm, yes, please!
We love honey and we put it on everything, but what I don’t love about it is the sticky, gooey mess. I have found Addi in that honey bucket, more than once, and let me tell you – it ain’t easy to clean up! That’s why I love the idea of these Tate + Lyle Honey Granules. You still get that delicious honey taste, but without the mess! We like to add it to our oatmeal, herbal tea, and in cookies, as well as to this Rasberries and Cream Fruit Bowl. The granules are mixed with sugar cane, so it’s a great way to sweeten up all kinds of baked goods, drinks, or cereal and still get that delicious honey taste.
I hope you like this as much as I do!
