In case you haven’t been following along on our Facebook page {which you should probably fix that right now…just sayin’.}, you may not know that we announced last week that we are no longer doing our Work It Wednesday link party. I’m not sure how all of you will feel about that, but to be frank – I’m freaking excited. I loved WIW because I felt like it gave us an opportunity to share some personal aspects about our life and it gave me an extra day in the week that I didn’t feel pressure to post a recipe. But those were probably the only reasons. Other than that, I was stressed out about getting it up every week and I hated having to pick which projects to feature because I was always torn between about a billion of them. And if I’m being honest here – it’s not like we had a ton of people linking up like most link parties out there, so I didn’t feel like it was super beneficial for you, the linker uppers {yes, that’s a word}. Soooo, we decided to bag the whole ordeal and start what is now know as ‘Top Five Friday’!
I understand that this still may be one of those things that doesn’t get very many pageviews, but that’s ok. I want a chance to be able to share what brings us joy throughout the week, so that’s exactly what TFF will be – a list of 5 items that made us a little happier and made our days a little brighter. One of those things will be a Pinterest find, whether it be a yummy looking recipe, an awesome DIY project, an inspirational quote, beautiful photography, or something witty that made us laugh. {Expect more of the latter.} Another will be some kind of food. After all, we do run a food blog here and I happen to know a lot of food blogging peeps that I’d love to feature their food. Just sayin’. Aaaand if we’re being real here, you can probably expect the majority of TFF’s to have a blurb about our cute little babe. Just roll with it. There’s also a good chance that I’ll share pictures from my Instagram feed, so if you follow me there, don’t be mad for seeing pictures twice.
Maybe one day we can make this into a link party of sorts and you can write a post about your top five favs from the week {because I would absolutely love reading about yours!}, but for now, feel free to come visit and catch a glimpse into our mediocre {yet, lovely} life.
Now, if I may – Let the Top Five Fridaying commence!
1. This quilt:
I know, it’s blurry. But you try taking a steady-handed pictures when you’re holding a baby and trying to make her laugh, all while not looking at the camera.
4. Trips to Utah. If you didn’t know, we are living in Colorado right now. Zachary is in the Air Force and is stationed in Cheyenne, WY. In all reality, we consider ourselves pretty lucky to be where we are. In the 2 and 1/2 years we’ve been married, we’ve lived in Alabama, Texas, California, Wyoming and now Colorado. Although we wish every day that we could live here in Utah with our families, obviously we’ve lived a lot further away, so the 7 hours we have to drive now is no big deal. Especially now that we have a baby, it’s so great to live close enough for her to see her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Anyway, we’re in Utah now and I’m feeling completely spoiled as my mom is whipping me up some lunch as we speak. What a gem of a lady.
5. These Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls Pancakes from No. 2 Pencil.
We have a recipe for Pumpkin Pancakes and Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, but these babies? Holy yum. I know what’s going on our breakfast menu next week!
