I’ve probably said it at least five times on this blog, but I’d bet money that at least one person will look at this post that has never been to our blog before today, so I’m going to come right out and say it again: I. Do not. Like Chocolate. Glad to get that off my chest again. Most people think I’m crazy for saying that, but it’s how I’ve been my entire life, so it’s nothing new.I came across a recipe for ‘chocolate lasagna’ at Center Cut Cook and after one look at it, I thought, “that would be so easy to make into a vanilla dessert!” So that’s exactly what I did. And then the Vanilla Dreamboat Dessert was born. And it is pretty freaking amazing too.
Vanilla Dreamboat Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 pkg regular golden Oreos finely crushed {About 36 cookies}
- 6 Tbsp. butter melted
- 1 pkg. {8 oz.} cream cheese softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cold milk
- 1 tub {12 oz.} Cool Whip divided
- 2 pkgs. {3.4 oz.} instant vanilla pudding
- 3 & 1/4 cups whole milk cold
- 1 bag white chocolate chips
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine Oreos and butter and mix until crumbs are fully coated.
-
Press the crumbs into an ungreased 9x13 inch baking dish.
-
Place the pan in the refrigerator while you work on the additional layers.
-
In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese until light and fluffy.
-
Add 2 Tbsp. milk and sugar and mix well.
-
Fold in 1 & 1/4 cups Cool Whip.
-
Spread this mixture over the crust.
-
In another bowl, {sorry about all the dirty dishes!} combine the vanilla pudding with 3 & 1/4 cups milk and whisk until pudding starts to thicken.
-
Spread the pudding mixture over the previous cream cheese layer.
-
Let the dessert rest for about 5 minutes so the pudding can firm up further.
-
Spread the remaining Cool Whip over the top.
-
Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top.
-
Place in the freezer for 1 hour or refrigerator for 4 hours before serving.

Anything with vanilla oreos is delicious to me! Adding whip cream and vanilla pudding has to be so good! Love the recipe!

Oh yum! I’m not a chocolate fan too, but I LOVE vanilla. And this looks totally do-able. Like…right now! 🙂
Um yum! Thanks for sharing!
This looks absolutely heavenly Sarah! My boys LOVE vanilla so we will definitely be trying this soon 🙂
I thought I was the only person out there who didn’t like chocolate!! So glad to find a fellow vanilla lover.
Is the yellow layer vanilla? I’m wondering how this would taste with lemon! I love most everything lemon & your dessert looks amazing! Thanks for sharing, trying this very soon!

I am a Chocoholic…. BUT…. This looks awesome.. Of course, anytime you add pudding and Cool Whip, you’ve got my attention. Thanks for this fabulous addition to my dessert cook book. (This will be right behind the “BETTER THAN SEX” cake…. {:0)
First of all, let me say (tongue in cheek) that I’m not sure I can trust anyone who doesn’t like chocolate. There, that is off my chest. But, I must say that this looks delicious.
Heres a quick non chocolate recipe for you…take pkg of ready to bake sugar cookies, put them in bottom of 13×9 panand gentl spread out to make one crust then bake until done. Let cool. Then make one pkg of lemon pudding and spread on top….then on top of that spread one pkg of vanilla pudding. so good
Thank you for the alternative crust. I refuse to buy anything made by Nabisco due to them moving operations to Mexico. So many people have lost their jobs, put stress on an already fragile economy.
I like chocolate but I LOVE vanilla. Oh this looks amazing.
WOW!! This looks super yummy & vanilla is my fave! I will have to make this soon, pinned to my Fall Party Desserts Board! 🙂

I absolutely love vanilla and this looks and sounds fantastic! Thanks for sharing and pinning! Have a great evening!
Oh my this looks delicious! Going to pin it now! Found you on daily blog boost 🙂
My mom made a lemon pudding version of this when I was a kid. But her crust was almonds & crumble crust. The golden Oreo crust sounds divine!
Have just made this for our church’s progressive dinner tomorrow night – looking forward to actually getting to taste it.
Butterscotch. Yum-o
Butterscotch. Yum-o
I know this may sound like a dumb question but, are you using the whole cookie including middle and all? Thanks
You could substitute banana, butterscotch or chocolate pudding in the recipe also.
I am not a fan of chocolate either, but I love anything lemon, so I would use lemon pudding instead of the vanilla.
Butter Pecan is devine!!
I have a grandson who doesn’t like chocolate either. I’m always on the lookout for desserts that are delicious and that he will like, too. Of course, everyone else loves them, too.
I like the recipe very much vanilla dessert boat one doubt do we have to cook instant vanilla pudding and add or directly add and dream whip do we have to add direct the powder or make cream out of it after whipping with milk and add. Can we substitute oreos to other biscuits.
Hi! I’m so glad you like this recipe. You do not cook the pudding before adding it to the recipe. You will combine the milk and pudding powder and whisk until it thickens. Great question! I haven’t tried this recipe with other cookies besides Oreos, so I can’t say whether or not it would work. Try it and let me know how it goes! 🙂
When the pudding is resting for 5 minutes, it that in the fridge? Looks so yummy!
You can put it in the fridge or just leave it on the counter. It’s just so it can firm up is all and it will do it just fine at room temp or cold. 🙂
I work in a nursing home and I bring in a dessert once a week for the residents on my floor. This will be great and so many variations. I like that I can make it in a pan as opposed to a “bowl” dessert.
Looks great! I’d like the pudding layer fluffier, so I would sub in heavy whipping cream for the milk. Have you tried this with a vanilla wafer crust? Thanks for sharing!
That sounds great! I haven’t tried it, but feel free and let me know how it goes!
Thank You! = )
Finally someone else who doesn’t like chocolate! People look at me like I’m crazy when I say that. This one looks yummy!!
People look at me like I’m crazy when I say I don’t like chocolate I thought I was the only one I’m giving this a try to night then I’m going to try making it peanut butter
Yum, thanks for sharing. I am one “of those” people who do not like chocolate.
I actually found having the chocolate ships on top was too sweet, so the next time I made it I shaved white chocolate on top and WOW it was even better. LOVE this recipe and the the variations you can do with it.
Can it remain in the refrigerator over night? With the cool whip on it? I’m making it now. For my nieces and nephews. This is their Christmas at grandmoms house. Please respond soon. Thanks so much!!!
I must try this! My sister will love it since she doesn’t care for chocolate either! Thank you for sharing!
Hi and thanks for the recipe! I made this and it was great! The second time I added a layer of fresh blueberries between the cream cheese and pudding layers and went with a white chocolate pudding and topped with fresh whipped cream. EXCELLENT!
Absolutely stunning! Thank you on a detailed recipe!
Wow. I am usually a chocolate fan, but this dessert looks super decadent. I bet this really would also be great with a lemon flavor. Totally up my alley.
Superb
Great
I THINK ORANGE WOULD BE GOOD AND ON THE TOP SHRED FINELY ONE OF THOSE CHOCOLATE ORANGE CANDYS THAT YOU HIT ON A HARD SURFACE AND IT TASTES JUST LIKE ORANGE YOU DONT HAVE TO USE MUCH ???????????
I would like to say that first, the naming is perfectly suited to the dessert! It is indeed a dream come true for a dessert lover like me! The experience was blissful.
