In my hometown {or rather, the town just next to it, but it’s pretty much the same thing} there’s the cutest candy shop you ever did see. My mom used to bring home treats from there every so often. My favorites were the chocolate caramel pretzels, but white chocolate covered rice krispy treats were a definite close second.
I can remember trying to make them with my roommates in college and it ended up to be a messy disaster, but they still tasted good! Luckily, these ones turned out a little prettier. 😉
White Chocolate Covered Rice Krispy Treats
Ingredients:
- 6 cups rice krispy cereal
- 3 Tbsp. butter {I used salted}
- 40 regular-size marshmallows {or 4 cups miniature marshmallows}
- 16 oz. white melting chocolate {I use Candiquik}
- Sprinkles
Directions:
- Coat a 9×13 inch pan with cooking spray.
- Pour rice krispy cereal into a large bowl.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until there are only a 5-6 lumps left; remove from heat.
- Add cereal and stir well until coated.
- Press mixture evenly into prepared pan.
- Let cool and then cut into 1-inch squares.
- Melt chocolate according to package directions.
- Using a fork, dip your krispy treats into the melted chocolate, fully coat, and place on wax paper.
- Top with sprinkles while chocolate is still melted.
- Let chocolate harden and enjoy.
These would go great in those neighbor goodie bags this season! Just sayin’. 😉
