Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

  • 16 oz egg noodles
  • 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup onions chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 lb stew beef
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 cups milk
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Cook your egg noodles according to package directions. While they are cooking, begin the stroganoff recipe below.

  2. Heat up your olive oil in a large skillet. Add your onion and garlic. Sauté for about a minute.

  3. Season your beef chunks with the onion salt, salt, and pepper. Add the seasoned beef to the onions and garlic.

  4. When the beef is browned, add the mushrooms and continue to cook on medium for about 2-3 minutes. Set this mixture aside.
  5. In a separate pan, melt the butter. Add your flour and bring to a light boil. Slowly whisk in your milk.

  6. Let this mixture thicken on medium heat just a little. Once thickened, reduce heat to a simmer and add the sour cream and nutmeg. Add the meat concoction to the sauce and mix well.

  7. Serve over egg noodles
